We record all trading history (executed, pending, cancelled, etc) and track when the first trade is placed. That is independent of the type of order, and that is when the trading period starts to count (not on the first trade executed in the market).

Upon the first trade placed (not first trade executed), whether trade activated or not, the trading period starts (this includes pending orders).
